What  are the Rich People's Dolls?

It's a traditional Portuguese handmade biscuit...

Bonecas do Ricos - A traditional biscuit from Vila de Rei made with ingredients available in the old days - aniseed, flour, a little sugar, eggs, lemon zest.... but as they contained more expensive ingredients, they were largely intended to be sold to the "rich" at fairs and Sunday markets.

On the other hand, they also made dolls for the poor – which were made only with bread dough and sugar… but only the story remains of them, as they are no longer produced.

Ideal to accompany coffee, tea or honey , these little treats are also an excellent gift option as a memento of Portuguese tradition.
